Fashion Friday: Hot Dame

I will make no excuses for lack of posting…But I had a little freetime this week and I thought hey I should post a little look for you all. This week I am featuring the hottest little black dress I’ve ever had the good fortune to wear! The dress is The Vamp from Pinup Girl Clothing.

Dress: Pinup Girl Clothing I actually tried on this dress when I went the the pinup girl clothing boutique many moons ago and fell in love instantly…but alas I was a little too broke to buy it at the time…but as the saying goes “Good things come to those who wait”. The dress went on sale, and is still on sale I might add, so I finally bought my PUG first love. The Vamp is the perfect LBD, form fitted to show off the curves, yet modest enough you wouldn’t feel awkward if you ran into your Grandma while out and about. The fabric is a sturdy cotton poly blend but still comfortable, as reference I am 36″ 27.5″ 36″ and the Medium fits me quite comfortably. Basically The Vamp is everything you could want out of a LBD…But if black isn’t your thing this dress comes in other colourways as well!

I hope you all enjoyed this post and thank you for putting up with me and my lack of posting. Happy Friday!

Olan Rogers feature Pt 2.

I have no excuse for my lack of posting, basically my new years resolution should be to practice consistency when it comes to blogging. But anyways hello and happy New Year! I’m starting off 2016 with a pt 2. feature for one of the greatest clothing companies in the world Olan Rogers Supply, as you all know I am a diehard Olan fan and could honestly sing his praises forever. Dress: Queen of Heartz Now I have a few dresses from QoH but I have to say this might be my most favorite. The 60’s silhouette is incredibly flattering and immediately evokes a seriously Joan Holloway vibe, and the bengaline material is both comfortable and supportive so hooray for smooth lines! Normally I end up ordering a Medium in most of Letty’s  pieces (my measurements are 36″ 27.5″ 36″) but I do find sometimes they can be just ever so slightly loose, so I opted to size down to a small since this dress is rather stretchy and I am glad I did because this little diddy fits like a glove! I also happen to think this dress would be the perfect holiday season dress, its sexy enough for glitzy parties but the higher neckline and beautiful navy blue color makes it appropriate enough for family gatherings, and who doesn’t like duel duty pieces?

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you check out Queen of Heartz for all your holiday party dress needs! Cheers!

Fashion Friday Featuring Queen of Heartz Pt 1.

Hello you lovely people you! This week on the blog I am featuring the always gorgeous and fabulously historically accurate Queen of Heartz. If you’re familiar with the blog then chances are you know how much I adore this LA based brand. I cannot say enough good things about this company, every design looks like its something my Grandma could have owned, theres no chic quite like granny chic, and I positively love the owner/designer Letty Tennant. Her brand has become such a staple among the pinup scene that it would be easy for her to stop working so hard and let her name and reputation carry the business, but Letty would never do such a thing. She is a woman dedicate to her craft and her customers. Honestly she’s my woman crush everyday!

I can’t tell you guys how ecstatic I am to be sharing this look. All the fun of a playsuit/romper without any of the…um…er…wedgie tendencies, hahaha sorry if thats TMI. But as a lady with a rather long torso rompers just never worked for me. But with the Mari Top and Skort I can get that summer fun look of a romper without any of the hassles.
341133433443Love that the shorts aren’t too short!

collageWide waist tie to really complete the sarong look of this skort. Its all about the details.

Hair Flowers: H&M I bought two of the packs.

Earrings: A Greek Festival/Similar

Mari Top: Queen Heartz What’s not to love about this top? Adjustable halter, padded bust, wide waist band (super flattering), and vintage inspired buttons really make this top sing. Unfortunately I fall between sizes my measurements are 36″ 27.5″ 36″, I’m just too big for a small and slightly too small for a medium, so this top is ever so slightly loose on me but it will be easy enough to take up. One can’t blame a brand for not catering to weird proportions 😉

Mari Skort: Queen of Heartz Love love love! This skort is so perfect, I know I will be getting a lot of wear out of this bad boy this summer. It gets insanely hot here in TX so shorts, skirts, and skorts, are practically a necessity…but I’m a bit self conscious about my legs, from cellulite to the sheer size of my thighs finding anything to keep me cool yet still covered enough is quite the hassle. Til now that is. The Mari Skort is the perfect length for me, just long enough to cover up what I don’t particularly like, but short enough that I still look young and fun, and most importantly stay cool. Why can’t all bottoms be as flattering as the Mari?

Sandals: Miz Mooz

If you’re in the market for some truly vintage looking pieces you cannot find a better place than Queen of Heartz to fufill your desires. Seriously if you go to their site and don’t see anything you want you’re not of this world haha. Hope you all enjoyed this post and that you keep a look out for the next features. Until then Happy Friday darlings.

Fashion Friday Featuring Unique Vintage

Hello my dears I’m so happy its Friday aren’t you? This week I am sharing all about my gorgeous Jane Doe dress I got on sale from the always darling Unique Vintage.

As you probably know Unique Vintage is of my favorite companies, the variety of stock they carry is unbelievable, their customer service is extraordinary, and there is always some sort of sale happening. But more than that this company has a beautiful soul, I’ve never seen a company so invested in their customers, they’re always posting incredibly sweet comments and promoting diversity and body positivity. Honestly it makes me a little bit teary eyed when I think about how much love and support there is in the UV Darling community. So many brands feel so absent from their work, too much corporate and not enough kindness, that is a statement you could never make about UV. So if you’re looking to buy from a company you can believe in Unique Vintage is it.

Now enough gushing lets get to this dress 😉21452046195820552167Really feeling those Peter Pan vibes!

1982twirling2247Because twirling and pretend ballerina-ing is part of the breaking in process 😉

2085Dress: Unique Vintage  this dress is on sale on their site so unfortunately most of the sizes are gone, so if your size isn’t available you can get this dress from  Queen of Heartz. I have been on the hunt for a super cute peter pan collared dress ever since I got my bangs (Ya I want to channel Clara Oswald) and like manna from heaven this dress appeared in my online searches and I immediately knew I had to have it. The material of this dress is mostly cotton so its sturdy but still has gorgeous movement, the keyhole detailing adds just the right amount of subtle sexiness, the wide waist band provides definition and glorifies that hourglass silhouette I love so much, and the skirt is oh so fabulously full, taking this bad boy for a spin on the dance floor is going to be a blast let me tell ya! To put it simply I am thrilled with my new purchase.

Fashion Friday Featuring Miz Mooz

I’m so happy to be featuring one of my most favorite companies yet again Miz Mooz! How I adore this brand and their penchant for retro designs and affinity for silky smooth leather. Oh and they also had one of the funniest April Fools Day jokes I’ve ever seen with their Selfie Shoe Video. I mean what could beat a stellar product sold by a friendly and hilarious group of people? I’m thinking nothing tops that.

151113241644PicMonkey14541767166013921952Haircut: Rebekah Klueber  Seriously if you live in the DFW metroplex and you’re looking for a new stylist go see this lady! She is wonderful!

Blouse: Target/Similar

Purse: Walmart

Belt: H&M

Skirt: Old Made Good/Similar

Sandals: Miz Mooz These sandals are perfect! I love that they suit my vintage look so well, but are still going to easily pair with my more modern pieces. For me finding a nice pair of sandals is more frustrating than finding a good swimsuit. You want something comfortable but you also want something a little more refined than say a pair of flip flops, and Miz Mooz understands this. By utilizing leather and memory foam you’re going to feel like you’re walking on a cloud. I have SUPER blister prone feet, and admittedly I found the ankle strap on these to be just the slightest bit irritating but since these bad boys are leather after a few wears they are going to soften right up, unlike the mass produced plastic based shoes that will never soften up in the right places. Quality materials make all the difference and are so worth investing in.Thank you Miz Mooz for never cutting corners!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and that you check out Miz Mooz and their perfect shoes. Happy Friday Darlings!

Lil Lou Lou Pt 2.

Well hearty hello to you all, I hope you’ve all had a good week. Today on the blog I have Pt 2. of my Lil Lou Lou feature. If you already read Pt 1 then you know it was love at first sight for me and this stellar brand. Seriously this company is everything I love; wonderful designs, quality construction, friendly service, and USA manufactured goods.090709911048110010621011 Bandana: Lil Lou Lou Oh so darling yet oh so sturdy. The Rosie bandana is made from 100% cotton and has been sewn and hemmed in such a way that it wont wrinkle and crumple like traditional bandanas so often do. Basically it is the perfect headwrap for a girl who doesn’t want to spend ages trying to get her “rosie” do just right, you seriously just throw it on and voila, adorable hair! Blouse: H&M/Similar Jeans: Old Navy Flats: Payless/Similar 117411181242130212821226Sunglasses: Unique Vintage Blouse: Ann Taylor/Similar Belt: Vintage/Similar Skirt: Lil Lou Lou to put it simply this skirt completes me. I just cannot get over how much fabric there is, anyone who knows me knows I love a full skirt and believe you me Lil lou lou delivers. One thing Lil Lou lou also delivered was a novelty print I actually love, usually novelty prints just look too sloppy or childish for me to get on board with them, but this skirt has made me a believer in beautiful and fun novelty prints. First off its blue…and for some reason most of my favorite pinup pieces are blue, and the undergarment advertisements that make up the print add just the perfect amount of sass for me. Like I said before this skirt completes me. Flats: Payless/Similar I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you get yourself some fabulous goodies from Lil lou lou! Happy Friday my dears.

Fashion Friday Featuring Lil Lou Lou’s Pt. 1

Hey guys and dolls I hope you’re all doing well, sorry its been a while between posts but I caught a gnarly cold, flew out of state for a few days, and then caught some new cold like sickness from my plane ride back home, UGH! But I am finally on the mend and ready to get back to blogging, and what a fun brand I have to feature this week.

Lil Lou Lou now if the name alone doesn’t get you excited allow me to enlighten you on this awesome company. This wonderful brand specializes in pinup/rockabilly hair accessories and children’s clothing, which sounds simple enough, but I can’t tell you how many times I have been let down by supposed pinup hair accessories, you know the ones I’m talking about. The hair scarves that are just too short to actually make a decent bow, or the hair flowers that look more like wilted flowers after a few wears. Well the owner/designer and all around sweetheart Lily Dueñas understands these frustrations and only supplies wonderful products that you’ll happily wear for a long time. The designs are gorgeous, the construction is high quality and super functional, and you should also be happy to know all the products are proudly manufactured in the grand ole US of A. Basically this is a brand I am more than happy to get behind.

Look 1.0433053804990431modeling is clearly my calling 😉

Cute Knotted Bows: Lil Lou Lous oh my lands I just love these cute little bows. I actually wear my hair in “kitten ears” pretty often cause its an easy pinup do, but it can be a little lack luster at times, well til now that is. The knotted bows add that perfect finishing touch to an otherwise simple hair do.

and because these are an accurate representation of how most shoots go 😉

Minnie Headband: Lil Lou Lous This has got to be one of the most appropriately named accessories ever, I mean who doesn’t want to be as adorable as minnie mouse? I love how easy this headband is to wear, since the minnie is elasticized  you can just pop it on and not worry about it falling off, which if you’re anything like me that’s a huge selling point! I absolutely hate when my bandanas and bows fall. Also the bow portion can be tied anyway you desire, huzzah to customizable pieces!

Tanktop: Not sure/Similar

Jivin Skirt: Lil Lou Lous unfortunately for you guys I got the last rocket ads print for adults but they have a lovely white as well as a fun blue novelty print that I’ll be featuring soon 😉

Flats: Payless/Similar

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that none of you have caught this terrible cold going around! Check out Lil Lou Lou and be on the look out for Pt 2 of the feature. Happy Friday!

Fashion Friday Featuring: Queen of Heartz Apparel

Hello my loves, I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I originally had hoped to share the beautiful Brenda from Queen of Heartz before Christmas, because hello this dress just screams Happy Holidays in its gorgeous red…But we all know Christmas time means you never meet deadlines. However that doesn’t mean you have to wait til next Christmas to scoop up this beauty. I happen to think ringing the New Year in a ravishing red is an excellent idea…also Valentines is right around the corner, just sayin. 7046734672037066detail shot7130twirlTwirl test: A++ I mean would you just look at that skirt!7351721571827190

Dress: Queen of Heartz I have long since been a fan of the Brenda, I lusted, I coveted, I pined after it, and now it is in my possession. Sometimes after wanting something for so long and finally getting it you feel a little let down, you built it up too high in your mind. But I can honestly say I’m more in love now than I ever was before. The Brenda is actual dress perfection, the skirt is HUGE and swings like a dream, the wide waist band is mind blowingly flattering, and the scalloped edged neckline is so similar to the masterpiece of a gown Rosemary Clooney wears while singing Love Didn’t Do Right By Me in White Christmas I could cry. Letty Tennant is a dress making goddess and every pinup should own at least one of her pieces…Because after the first you’ll be hooked 😉

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you will check out Queen of Heartz, every woman deserves to feel this kind of glamour. Happy New Years! See you dolls in 2015!
