Fashion Friday: Workwear You Can Wear Again

Well hello my darlings. I hope life is treating you quite well. For this week’s Fashion Friday I thought I might share a Workwear outfit made of pieces you can wear while at the office or simply out and about with friends.

If you’re anything like me you don’t like clothes you can only wear on certain occasions. If I bought something I want to wear it often, I want my money’s worth…so if I ever get married the whole wedding dress situation should be interesting 😉

Fashion Friday Featuring Tattify

Hey guys sorry I’ve been MIA for a few weeks but life got a bit crazy…and by “a bit crazy” I actually mean my life should’ve been checked into a psych ward crazy 😉 But anyway I am back and finally have a fashion friday to share with you all. This week I am featuring the godsend of a company that is Tattify. If you’re anything like me you’d love nothing more than to be a tattooed badass…but you’re not quite ready to make that leap just yet. This where Tattify comes in to help, they have a myriad of temporary tattoos to choose from sure to suit all tastes. But if you want to be sporting something no one else is or tattify doesn’t have the design you want you can send in a design and get a custom piece! They also have nail art and metallic tattoos so they’ve got you covered on all bases really. 8020PicMonkey CollageI of course went the nerdy route and got Doctor Who themed tattoos.81198193812681047971“Are you afraid of the big bad wolf?”

Earrings: Payless/Similar

Tattoos: Tattify First off I love the designs, was thrilled with how realistic these tattoos looked, some temporary tattoos are too shiny to look real, my highly sensitive skin had no reaction praise the lord, and the price is highly affordable at $5 for two duplicate designs or $15 for a full set. I will say that the Bad Wolf tattoo wore off really quickly…but I think that had to do with where it was placed more than anything, because Allons-y lasted a few days. So all in all I am very pleased, and I will probably continue purchasing from Tattify til I take the leap and get real tattoos 😉

Jacket: Forever 21

Blouse: Forever 21/Similar

Bra top: Onzie

Jeans: Old Navy

Boots: Target

I hope you all enjoyed this post and check Tattify out, and if you do be sure to let me know what design you get! I love hearing from you guys. Happy Friday.

Fashion Friday Featuring: Queen of Heartz Apparel

Hello my loves, I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I originally had hoped to share the beautiful Brenda from Queen of Heartz before Christmas, because hello this dress just screams Happy Holidays in its gorgeous red…But we all know Christmas time means you never meet deadlines. However that doesn’t mean you have to wait til next Christmas to scoop up this beauty. I happen to think ringing the New Year in a ravishing red is an excellent idea…also Valentines is right around the corner, just sayin. 7046734672037066detail shot7130twirlTwirl test: A++ I mean would you just look at that skirt!7351721571827190

Dress: Queen of Heartz I have long since been a fan of the Brenda, I lusted, I coveted, I pined after it, and now it is in my possession. Sometimes after wanting something for so long and finally getting it you feel a little let down, you built it up too high in your mind. But I can honestly say I’m more in love now than I ever was before. The Brenda is actual dress perfection, the skirt is HUGE and swings like a dream, the wide waist band is mind blowingly flattering, and the scalloped edged neckline is so similar to the masterpiece of a gown Rosemary Clooney wears while singing Love Didn’t Do Right By Me in White Christmas I could cry. Letty Tennant is a dress making goddess and every pinup should own at least one of her pieces…Because after the first you’ll be hooked 😉

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you will check out Queen of Heartz, every woman deserves to feel this kind of glamour. Happy New Years! See you dolls in 2015!

Olan Roger’s Apparel: Fall Line Feature

Hey guys and dolls I’m so thrilled to be sharing this feature with all of you. As you probably know I’m a huge fan of Olan Rogers and Olan Rogers Apparel, but to be featuring pieces from the new fall line is extra special. Not only are the designs absolutely amazing, but the story behind them is something else entirely. Anyone who watches Olan’s videos knows this man is a complete and utter goof. Honestly its like watching a really large, happy, sugar high child tell a story. But it turns out behind all the hilarity Olan was having a really tough year. Like a lay awake at night have your troubles eat at you, tough year. However, instead of letting all the set backs and frustrations trap him, Olan channeled all that stress and negativity to create what I think to be his strongest line yet.

The entire fall line is about Going to War and not letting life knock you out. That’s definitely something I wanted to support. Because its something I could relate to, this past year has been depressing, maddening, exciting, and scary, sometimes all in the same day. However I learned I’m stronger and braver than I ever imagined. Sometimes life doesn’t pan out the way you planned or even busted your backside to make happen. Yet amazing things can still take place when you keep on truckin…and having some seriously cool uplifting styles never hurt either 😉

Shirt: Olan Rogers Apparel  Yet again I’m in love with a baseball-T. But can you really blame me? The cut is flattering, the design is killer, and its soooooo soft. It’s like wearing hug honestly.

Jeans: Old Navy

Hoodie: Olan Rogers Apparel Thank heavens for hoodies. Its the closest thing to your blanket that’s acceptable to wear around in everyday life, and this particular hoodie may even rival my blanket in its comfort levels, its made from really sturdy cotton poly blend so its great at keeping the cold out, which I was super thankful because Texas went from 75 degrees to 50 overnight, and the design on this piece is so effortlessly cool. Oh and this hoodie is PERFECT for layering, so if you live somewhere like I do where the weather is totally bipolar having a good layering piece is an absolute must.

Sweater: Olan Rogers Apparel This is the piece that started the entire collection and I have to admit its definitely my favorite. Which is saying something because I really love everything from the fall line. First off the design on this sweater is incredible! I mean who wouldn’t want a battle ready bear gracing their shirt? The stone color is so perfectly suited for fall and winter, the classic crewneck cut will never go out of style, and I wish there were words sufficient enough to describe how perfectly soft the inner lining is, maybe this is what its like to be that paper cone they wrap cotton candy around? Oh and if the softness wasn’t enough the warmth will be, its what I imagine swimming in a giant cup of coffee to be like…I think I must be tired, I’m associating everything with sugar and caffeine haha. But seriously this sweater is the best!

Jacket: Forever 21

Skirt: Cotton On/Similar

Socks: Forever 21

Boots: DSW/Similar

I really hope you all enjoyed this post and that you check out Olan Rogers Apparel. This is a company I so wholeheartedly support, the people who run it are amazing, the designs are so fun and unique, every article of clothing I’ve received from them is insanely comfortable, and for every shirt sold a needy child is fed for the day! Now that is the kind of business I want to get behind.

Oh and on a side note the holidays are coming up and shopping for people can be really tough but I happen to think everybody would appreciate some Olan Rogers gear, don’t you? Happy Friday my loves.

Fashion Friday Featuring Miz Mooz

Woo hoo we have made it through yet another work week, aren’t Friday’s just the best? Even when I do work the weekends I still look forward to Fridays because I really do love posting my Fashion Fridays, and when I have a brand or product that I’m excited to share with you all I’m especially anxious for the weekend to get here.

Well as far as I was concerned this weekend couldn’t get here soon enough, because I have found the most adorable outrageously comfortable shoes in existence, and they are from the absolutely stellar company Miz Mooz. This extraordinary brand started off in a basement in New York City, and in traditional New York City style they grew to incredible heights, and now have their products stocked by several independent retailers. If you check out their products you are sure to see why they have had such success. I’m a relatively picky person so its rare for me to like several products from one company, but I can honestly say I would wear every single pair of shoes Miz Mooz has. Their attention to detail is really the clincher for me, so many companies have almost identical looking products, because let’s face it you can only reinvent the “heel” so many times 😉 but somehow Miz Mooz manages to capture the classic elements every shoe lover looks for yet still have that unique edge every individual wants.
29643004316631393332PicMonkey CollageBecause breaking in a new pair of heels requires one to twirl…its a very scientific process 😉

Cardigan: H&M

Ring: Gift/Similar

Dress: Go Insane

Petticoat: Malco Modes

Heels: Miz Mooz How do I even begin to explain the Safari’s? The Safaries are flawless, haha but seriously these heels are absolutely wonderful, the oxford and wing tip details make them a stylish classic everyone will love and want, but beauty isn’t everything you know. How many of us have a pair (or several pairs) of shoes that we bought just because they’re pretty, only to later realize we made a huge mistake, and these pretty shoes feel about as good as walking on legos? Well Miz Mooz knows their stuff and has created  a beautiful pair of shoes that just so happen to also be the most comfortable pair of heels I’ve ever worn. The stacked heel is a reasonable height so its easy on your arches, there is a built in cushion too so that’s especially good for your arches, and these shoes are made out of the softest smoothest leather I’ve ever experienced, I could probably run in these and not get a single blister. In fact these shoes are so perfect I’m a little angry, thank you Miz Mooz for ruining me for all other shoes haha 😉

So if you’re in the market for some great shoes I highly recommend you make the investment and get yourself a pair from Miz Mooz, you will not be sorry.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you have a great weekend. Happy Friday my loves.

One Piece Multiple Possibilities

Hello all I hope you’re having a great week so far. I thought it would be fun to do another “transitional fashion” post but instead of a from day to night look I thought it would be fun to show you all how with the help from some select accessories and styling tips you can change the look of a romper completely.

I decided to go with my two favorite style aesthetics, both of which could not be more polar opposite, but seriously where is it written that you can’t like a little bit of everything when it comes to style?

Look 1. Pinup Inspired

Because of the casual nature of a romper I decided to keep my hair simple, rolled bangs, a little bit of a bouffant working, and the rest of my hair down and curled all set off with a cute little bandana. I of course ignore how casual the romper is when it comes to my makeup though, a classic red lip and a winged liner is just a must have to for me, and to set the look off I paired a wide red belt to define my waist and a pair of heels to make my legs look a little longer and leaner than they actually are.front and backdetails9230923893009242

Bandana: Target

Earrings: Kohls

Bra Top: Onzie

Romper: H&M/Similar

Belt: Vintage/Similar

Heels: DSW/Similar

Look 2. Bohemian inspired.

See what I mean about polar opposites? For a fun bohemian look I went a little more “intricate” with my hair doing a fun twisted crown and some soft romantic curls to set it off, kept the makeup very simple and luminous, piled on the jewelry I’ve never heard of such a thing as too much turquoise, added a brown braided belt, again to define my waist, and kimono to give the look some movement. Then threw on some cowboy boots for a bit of a rustic edge.

0126PicMonkey Collage0243017402300283

Jewelry: The choker my mother made and I believe all the other pieces were bought at pow wows. Honestly pow wows are the greatest places to find gorgeous turquoise jewelry and I like supporting artists as opposed to companies. Do a little research and see if there are any pow wows taking place in your town, and don’t worry if you’re not Native American every pow wow I have ever been to has been open to the public. However if there aren’t any pow wows taking place near you I did find this site (Indian Village Mall) that sells gorgeous Native American wears.

Kimono: Cotton bought it ages ago but I love this Kimono from Forever 21 as an alternative

Romper: H&M /Similar

Belt: Vintage/Similar

Boots: Atwoods supply store/Similar

Which look was your favorite? Do you have a tendency to have polar fashion favorites or is it just me? Drop me a line I love hearing from you guys.

Hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did. Happy Wednesday!

Kenley Collins’ Pop Art Line Launch Party

Hello my lovelies! This week’s Fashion Friday is a bit different than most, but I’m sure you will all enjoy it, I know I did!

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending Kenley Collins‘ Pop Art Line Launch party at the fantastic Slapback Boutique in Brooklyn New York. I had previously done a feature of one of Kenley’s pieces a few week’s ago (Fashion Friday Featuring Kenley Collins) so I knew this launch party was not to be missed. I booked a flight to Maryland, stayed with my dear friend Amanda, and when the date of the launch party rolled around we made a little roadtrip so we could attend.

Kenley’s new line is inspired by 1960’s pop art and is almost too fabulous for words, that’s why there are so many photos 😉 A picture is worth a thousand words afterall

IMG_5981IMG_5988IMG_6114IMG_6097IMG_6096A whole lot of photographing going on 😉IMG_6059IMG_5985IMG_6123IMG_6071She’s such a doll!IMG_6021After I stopped creeping on all the beautiful people I decided to try some clothes on.playsuitThe Chain of Hounds Romper where do I begin? The print is a gorgeous teal and cream houndstooth which is perfect for summer, it has pockets! Which are the holy grail of fashion as far as I’m concerned, and the opening in the back adds the just right amount of playfulness and sex appeal.
IMG_6049Quite literally the most flattering swimsuit I’ve ever worn, I mean I even walked out of the changing room into a crowded shop that’s how confident I felt in this swimsuit! I grabbed the top from the Be My Baby Pink Swimsuit and the bottoms from the Tiffany’s Swimsuit and fell madly in love. This swimsuit covers “trouble areas” but accentuates one’s assets. In a day and age where swimsuits are tend to look more like eyepatches than actual articles of clothing its nice to know there are designers who understand that women like to be a little more covered and a lot more stylish!
green dressThe Lucy Chevron Dress  I feel a bit like a broken record when I talk about Kenley’s pieces because when I go to describe them I always come back to the same adjectives: flattering, beautiful, unique, and perfectly constructed! Its amazing how an article of clothing can shoot your confidence through the roof and every piece that Kenley designs does just that. In fact the fit of this dress was so perfect I couldve sworn it was custom made!6045The face of a girl who wants everything she tries on! The struggle is real.

My props to everyone who got up and sang, they all had great voices and way more nerve than I did. There wasn’t enough champagne in the world to get me up there 😉 I particularly enjoyed this gentleman’s performance of Grease Lightning. IMG_6027

All in all I had a fabulous time and could not encourage you enough to check out Kenley’s new line. Its fun, flirty, colorful, and stylish which is just like Ms Collins. Also if you’re lucky enough to live near Brooklyn be sure to stop in to Slapbacks and shop in what is clearly the greatest store around run by the sweetest people I’ve ever had to good fortune to meet. Happy Friday everyone!

Fashion Friday Texas Fall Fashion.

Let me clarify that this is a “Texas fall look” we’re not as lucky as you people who are getting to wear tights, cardigans, and the like. It’s still in the 80’s here but after 100+ this feels pretty darn nice. So here’s the look.

Fashion Friday!

Wow is it Friday already? This week flew by pretty quick…that tends to happen when you sleep the week away, I hadn’t been feeling terrific, but I felt pretty good on Thursday, so I got a little more stylish than the sweats and drab t-shirt look I had been sportin’ all week, nothing like a cute outfit to lift your spirits huh? So here it is my lovelies Fashion Friday!

Earrings: World Market.

Necklace: Belonged to Pop.

Bracelet: Belonged to my Grandma.

Owl Ring: Charlotte Russe. My little sister got it for me, isn’t that sweet?

Denim Jacket: Stole it out of my mom’s closet.

Brown Tank: Old Navy.

Black mini: H&M got this skirt for under $6! Gotta love that!

Anklet: I won a giveaway for a gift card to Dress911.com from http://pinuppersuasion.com/ and bought this sweet little thing.

Flip flops: Old Navy.

Nail polish: Is Essie in Lapis of Luxury.

Well as I was writing this I couldn’t help but notice that the majority of this outfit is made of up stuff that belonged to family members. Pretty neat, you never know where you might find your favorite fashion pieces. What are some of your favorite fashion finds? And where did you get them? A store, grandma’s jewelry box, or your mom’s closet? I would love to here from you guys! I hope you all have a very Happy Fashionable Friday and fabulous weekend! Love you guys.
