Fashion Friday Featuring Queen of Heartz Pt 1.

Hello you lovely people you! This week on the blog I am featuring the always gorgeous and fabulously historically accurate Queen of Heartz. If you’re familiar with the blog then chances are you know how much I adore this LA based brand. I cannot say enough good things about this company, every design looks like its something my Grandma could have owned, theres no chic quite like granny chic, and I positively love the owner/designer Letty Tennant. Her brand has become such a staple among the pinup scene that it would be easy for her to stop working so hard and let her name and reputation carry the business, but Letty would never do such a thing. She is a woman dedicate to her craft and her customers. Honestly she’s my woman crush everyday!

I can’t tell you guys how ecstatic I am to be sharing this look. All the fun of a playsuit/romper without any of the…um…er…wedgie tendencies, hahaha sorry if thats TMI. But as a lady with a rather long torso rompers just never worked for me. But with the Mari Top and Skort I can get that summer fun look of a romper without any of the hassles.

collageWide waist tie to really complete the sarong look of this skort. Its all about the details.

Hair Flowers: H&M I bought two of the packs.

Earrings: A Greek Festival/Similar

Mari Top: Queen Heartz What’s not to love about this top? Adjustable halter, padded bust, wide waist band (super flattering), and vintage inspired buttons really make this top sing. Unfortunately I fall between sizes my measurements are 36″ 27.5″ 36″, I’m just too big for a small and slightly too small for a medium, so this top is ever so slightly loose on me but it will be easy enough to take up. One can’t blame a brand for not catering to weird proportions 😉

Mari Skort: Queen of Heartz Love love love! This skort is so perfect, I know I will be getting a lot of wear out of this bad boy this summer. It gets insanely hot here in TX so shorts, skirts, and skorts, are practically a necessity…but I’m a bit self conscious about my legs, from cellulite to the sheer size of my thighs finding anything to keep me cool yet still covered enough is quite the hassle. Til now that is. The Mari Skort is the perfect length for me, just long enough to cover up what I don’t particularly like, but short enough that I still look young and fun, and most importantly stay cool. Why can’t all bottoms be as flattering as the Mari?

Skinny Gold Bracelet: Gift/Similar

Statement Bracelet: Family Heirloom/Similar

Sandals: Miz Mooz

If you’re in the market for some truly vintage looking pieces you cannot find a better place than Queen of Heartz to fufill your desires. Seriously if you go to their site and don’t see anything you want you’re not of this world haha. Hope you all enjoyed this post and that you keep a look out for the next features. Until then Happy Friday darlings.

Fashion Friday Restricted Shoes Pt. 3

Hello cats and kittens, I hope you have all had a lovely week. I most certainly have, because I have been having a blast putting together blog posts for you all to (hopefully) enjoy, and I was particularly excited to share this final Restricted Shoes series feature with you, because man oh man these heels are stunning!

Shoes: Restricted  See what I mean? Aren’t these babies gorgeous? To me they look like the kind of shoes Audrey Hepburn would wear, and if you know me at all that’s just about the highest compliment you could possibly receive. Again Restricted just knocks it out of the park with the pointed toe, which is so classically high fashion you cant help but feel tres chic, the heel height is just a bit taller than a kitten heel, which is great for me, because for some strange reason I stumble around more in a kitten heel than a stiletto. Please tell me I’m not the only one. Oh and the bow detailing adds just the perfect amount of playful femininity to put these heels in a category all their own. I’m really loving these heels, because they’re classy and grown up, but they’re not the least bit stuffy or tragically “practical”, and I happen to think these shoes will pair perfect with most party dresses this holiday season so that’s another bonus there.

I hope you all enjoyed this post, and the whole Restricted shoes series for that matter. Happy Friday and I will talk to you all again soon!

Oh and if you want to pick up a pair of shoes for yourself starting December 1st-31st use the discount code SARAHFORSHAW30 for 30% off of your purchase, how great is that?

Fashion Friday Featuring Lady V London

Well Happy Halloween everyone. Today’s post is not the least bit scary or spooky unless you happen to get the creeps from fabulous dresses at fabulous prices haha.

This week I am featuring the lovely company Lady V London. Lady V is run by husband and wife team Sergio and Victoria whose commitment to their customers, community, and workers is outstanding. From the very start of their company Victoria and Sergio were determined to create beautiful vintage inspired pieces at affordable prices, this means all the products are designed in house, and up until 2013 all of their dresses were made in EU. As of June 2013 Lady V moved their production to London ensuring excellent working conditions, higher standards of construction, and a quicker turn around time producing new designs and stocking old favorites. Beautiful clothes that you can feel good about wearing? It doesn’t get better than that! 45424628This shoot was 90% giggles.4606gloves and shoes4788twirlGotta do the twirl test, the Isabella passed with flying colors.459945604544474445894795Earrings: Sam Moon/Similar

Dress: Lady V London To me this dress is a prime example of why the pinup style is so fun and more practical than you might imagine. The versatility of this dress has got to be one of my favorite features. The bow detailing can be removed in order to change the feel of the dress. Plus the timeless design can easily transition from a casual day out by pairing it with a cardigan, ballet flats, and fun 50’s style pony tail, to an elegant night on the town by ditching the cardigan adding some heels, an updo, and some glitzy jewelry. Also in case you’re wondering the fit of this dress is superb, my measurements are 36″ 27.5″ 36″ so I went with a US size 6 (UK size 10) the dress has ample room for the simple things like moving and breathing 😉 but it doesn’t look the least bit sloppy, oh and my favorite part, it actually has sleeves that can handle my shoulders! Lady V London thank you for making such wonderful dresses ❤

Petticoat: Malco Modes

Shoes: DSW/Similar

I hope you all enjoyed this post, that you have a very happy Halloween, and that you check out Lady V London.

Fashion Friday Queen of Heartz Summer Line Pt 2.

Hooray time for Pt 2 of my Queen of Heartz feature! Let me start off by saying I’m a fairly modest person and I don’t particularly enjoy putting it all out there, so the idea of doing a swimsuit shoot was a little intimidating. But let me tell you this, no swimsuit has ever given me the confidence to “rock what I got” quite like this one. I think the main reason this swimsuit made me feel like such a bombshell was yes its beautiful and the print is just straight up sexy, but it balances that sex appeal out with a cut that is not only modest  but its also incredibly flattering.

IMG_8259You guys! There was another bee!!! Apparently bumble bees love Queen of Heartz as much as I do 😉

Head piece: Gift from my dear friend Amy who sells other gorgeous headpieces on her etsy site

Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters they sold out of the exact pair I’m wearing but they have other brilliant options

Robe: Gift but you can find a similar robe at JCPenneys or Victoria’s Secret

Swimsuit: Queen of Heartz I’ve never been a huge fan of one pieces which is funny for a “modest” person to say, but I always felt like they were more revealing in structure, and not at all flattering, most resulted in a ham in a tube sock like appearance. But this suit could not be more opposite of that, I love how the structure of this suit keeps you supported without being as brutal as spanx, the little buttons on the bust add a beautiful polished appearance, and the adjustable halterneck ensures your comfort regardless of size. Speaking of size Queen of Heartz size chart is always on point, my measurements are 36″ 27.5″ 36″ and the suit in medium is a perfect fit. I know I say it all the time but its Letty’s keen eye that truly sets her pieces apart, if you purchase anything from her you can rest assured the fit will be beautiful, the tiny details will give your outfit that polished edge, and the quality of construction will be like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. I cannot sing the praises of Queen of Heartz enough!

Shoes: DSW again not the exact pair I’m wearing but I actually like this alternative better

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you check Queen of Heartz out. Happy Friday my love!

Fashion Friday Featuring Kenley Collins

This week’s Fashion Friday will be featuring the incredible Kenley Collins.

Kenley Collins love of fashion started at the young age of 16 when she would reconstruct vintage pieces for herself and her friends to wear. Then after graduating from Florida State University with a marketing degree, Kenley moved on to New York and started working in a sales position at a clothing company. Well less than a year later Kenley was promoted to a position in design where she continued her craft and developed her own fashion niche.

It wasn’t long before the rest of the world to take notice of Kenley’s distinctive vintage inspired pieces and fall in love with her talent. Ms Collins has appeared on Bravo’s Project Runway, Lifetime’s Project Runway Allstars,  Live with Regis and Kelly, The Biography Channel, and E’s Oscar 2011 pre-show. Kenley’s pieces are sold throughout various boutiques, available on her site kenleycollins.com, and can quite often be seen on pop music sensation Ariana Grande. If that isn’t enough to entice you to check her clothes out let the following masses of pictures do so. I was having way too much fun during this shoot 😉

Gentlemen Prefer Dress: Kenley Collins This piece is literally everything I look for in a dress. Beautiful print, versatility of wear, and incredible construction! The royal blue stenciling is absolutely out of this world, believe it or not its even more beautiful in person! The fact that this dress is made out of a slight stretch cotton means its casual enough for everyday wear, but the obvious beauty of it means you won’t have to try hard to dress it up for an elegant evening out, and the construction is positively flawless, there is a bit of boning in the bodice that keep’s the lines of this dress very clean, and the size chart is so spot on! All of the attention to detail make this dress feel custom-made, which is what every woman wants, right? If you’re currently looking for the perfect spring/summer dress I cannot recommend The Gentlemen Prefer Dress highly enough.

Shoes: DSW I wear these shoes so much I think I should invest in different colors 😉

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you check Kenley Collins out! She is such a true talent, her eye for detail makes her pieces timeless but her playful sense of style makes all of her designs seem new and fresh! Oh and speaking of new be sure to keep tabs on this lady cause her new line drops May 1st, so exciting! I love you guys Happy Friday!
