Fashion Friday Featuring Affirmats

Today’s Fashion Friday is featuring Affirmats. A wonderful company that specializes in eco friendly biodegradable jute yoga mats. Now one might think how could a yoga mat be featured in a fashion post? Well admittedly I would probably think the same thing if I hadn’t seen the beauty that is Affirmats. These mats are not only functional (non slip, nothing worse than a mat that makes you feel like Bambi on ice) but they are beautiful and in turn make oneself feel beautiful. Its hard enough to get the urge to workout but having a mat “tell” you “Look how pretty you are” “I am wonderfully made” or “I am healthy I am wealthy I am love” is just the encouragement you need when trying to tackle “that impossible” pose you’re dying to accomplish. I have never loved a mat so much and I encourage you to check out this rad company http://www.affirmats.com/Home.html

Fashion Friday It’s Been A While!

I cannot begin to tell all of you how excited I am that the weather here in Dallas seems to be calming down a wee bit. It’s funny how your body will suddenly find 90 degrees rather cool, after a week of 105! Fall is just around the corner, I can feel it, so I since the weather was quite nice I decided to dress up a little, and share my look with you guys. When it’s 105 looks are the last thing on your mind, it’s been lazy ponytails, slouchy tank tops, shorts, and flip flops most of the summer. This is the reason for no fashion Fridays as of late, so hopefully I will now be able to post more regularly now that it’s cooling down quite a bit.

I was going for a 1920’s flapper inspired look. I had pin curled my hair the night before and decided to try my hand at a faux bob, and I must say I quite like it.

My accesories and nail polish.

Dress: Target.

Necklace: It was my Super lazy DIY.

Bracelet: Family Heirloom.

Nail Polish: Zoya in the color Goldie, and Sally Hansen in the color Black Out.

Ring: My mother and my Late Father gave it to me 🙂

I really adore a vintage feel to my style, and try to incorporate a bit of retro whenever possible. What are some of your favorite vintage or vintage inspired pieces? What is your favorite fashion decade? I would love some feedback. As always I hope you enjoyed this post, and that everyone has a Happy Friday and equally happy weekend.

Lazy Gold DIY!

I did a nail polish tutorial the other day with Zoya colors in Mia and Trixie, well I decided to try the same look but with Goldie and Mia. I pretty much painted my nails the same way I did last time, except I only did a single coat of mia, and just did the french manicure part free hand without the wooden skewer. So here is how it turned out!

I love how this box matched my nails!!!

Now for the lazy DIY portion of this blog. I was going through a box of old dress up jewelry I had as a kid, because you never know what cool thing you might find, and I found a really pretty clip-on earring, naturally I am not going to wear clip-ons…well on my ears that is. So I located a gold chain, and clipped on the earring making a really cute necklace!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I love that as of late I have been getting more feedback, so let me know what you think! Happy Thursday!
