I decided to have some fun with this week’s Fashion Friday, and do a bit of a 50’s rebel inspired look, while wearing just about the best band shirt there is! If you’re not familiar with JD McPherson please for the love of all that is good familiarize yourself with this incredible band!
There are few things in life I enjoy more than a great concert, and I can honestly say no one puts on a greater show than JD! The amount of artistry and attack that comes to every song will blow your mind. No matter your age and no matter your taste in music I can guarantee you will enjoy the mix of R&B and Old school Rock N Roll the McPherson band dishes out. I’ve have the pleasure of seeing them live a few times and I’m never disappointed, I walk away feeling like it was the first time all over again. So if this sounds like something you’d like to experience be sure to check out their tour dates and see if they’re playing near you this spring/summer tour.
My best attempt at looking rebellious 😉
The water was pretty darn cold
However I got over that 😉
Clearly the seriousness doesn’t last long
Flower Clip: Claires
Jacket: It’s my stepdad’s old highschool letterman. However Forever 21 has a great letterman styled jacket available
Shirt: JD McPherson concert. Now if JD isn’t coming through your town on this upcoming tour fret not, you can still snag this shirt along with other fantastic merchandise from their online store
Jeans: Old Navy
Well I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you check JD out, you will not be sorry! Love you all. Happy Friday.
Is everyone else dying for it to be fall already or is it just me? I want to layer, wear boots, and hats. But alas I live in Texas and it is only now starting to be bearable, that means around 90 degrees for those of you who don’t live here. So here is my best attempt at a fall look that wont result in a heatstroke.
clearly the whole wearing a cardigan thing didn’t last long.
My best snob face 😉
Headband: Fished it out of one of my ribbon nick knack bins. But this headband from Forever 21 is similar http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=hair-accessories-headbands&ProductID=1030188061&VariantID=
Cardigan: Old Navy I bought is a few winters ago so they don’t have exactly the same one but they have some really great cardis regardless http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?vid=1&pid=638142002
Dress: Cotton On bought it on sale so the print I’m wearing is not on their site but they always have this cut of dress, which I am thrilled about.http://us.cottonon.com/shop/product/jenny-dress-blue-foulard/
Flats: Payless. Another purchase that happened a while back but they have similar flats nonetheless http://www.payless.com/store/product/detail.jsp?catId=cat10088&subCatId=cat10276&skuId=132563080&productId=69922&lotId=132563&category=&catdisplayName=Womens
Hope you all enjoyed this Fashion Friday and that you have a wonderful weekend.
As many of you may have noticed a good deal of my wardrobe is from Cotton On. But can you really blame me? Their clothes are always beautiful, they constantly have sales, and not the trickster kind of sales where you actually aren’t saving money but honest to goodness sales, and they are an awesome company that has a true sense of responsibility, you can find out all about the Cotton On Foundation here to learn all about the way they are improving the world and helping others http://www.cottononfoundation.org/ but what I think is really great they make it incredibly easy for customers to make donations right at the checkout! No fussy paperwork to fill out no lifetime commitments have to be made, you can just make a donation then and there.
Headwrap: Its just a ribbon I pulled out of my ribbon box but Top Shop has a cute alternative http://us.topshop.com/en/tsus/product/bags-accessories-1702229/hair-accessories-70519/headbands-70691/polka-dot-wire-headband-136848?refinements=category~%5b210046%7c208709%5d&bi=1&ps=20 and so does claires http://www.claires.com/store/us/goods/hair/cat1260198/headbands/p54519/polka+dot+knotted+fabric+headband/
Umbrella: Target http://www.target.com/p/totes-clear-bubble-umbrella-silver-trim/-/A-10780081#prodSlot=medium_1_6&term=clear+umbrella
Blouse: Cotton On I bought mine on clearance so I couldn’t find the link to the exact one I am wearing so you can check your local Cotton On’s sales rack or buy this similar blouse http://shop.cottonon.com/shop/product/katja-s/l-shirt-white/
Midi rings: Forever 21 http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=ACC&ProductID=1040665778&VariantID=
Swing skirt: Cotton On http://us.cottonon.com/shop/product/jeanie-flippy-skirt-black/ They’re currently having a sale on these and you can get 2 for $20! This is one of my favorite cuts for a skirt, they’re slightly longer in the back which is great for modesty’s sake and the have shape that gives a nod to the 50’s which I adore. I could honestly buy one in every color!
Boots: Atwoods. Now Atwoods is a country supply store so they don’t have a website to order from, so you can either see if one is near you, or buy some similar ones from Sheplers http://www.sheplers.com/Old-West-Jama-Basic-Western-Cowgirl-Boots-Medium-Toe/21879.pro?parentCategoryId=448&categoryId=459&subCategoryId=460 these are one sale for $54.99 which is practically unheard of when talking about cowboy boots. I’ve seen some boots that cost more than an actual horse! So these are quite the bargain 😉
I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you have a happy Friday!
So this week has been nothing but tank tops and yoga pants, and while this is comfortable it does not make for a great Fashion Friday. So I thought I might share some outfit inspiration for your 4th of July activities. I try not to stick to a holiday color scheme too much but admittedly I really love the combination of red, white, and blue so the 4th is always a fun fashion day for me.
Adorable pinup-esque headwrap from Forever 21 for $2.80 http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=hair-accessories-headwraps&ProductID=1058544861&VariantID=
I am shameless when it comes to my love of polka dots so its no surprise I adore this romper from Cotton On it’s only $14.95 and can be dressed up or down. http://us.cottonon.com/shop/product/cuban-strappy-playsuit-baby-polka-ink/
Love these wedges from target. I almost never go into target with a sizable amount of cash because I’ll end up going on a spending spree, and because of this I was unable to purchase these gorgeous sandals that are just as comfortable as they are pretty. They’re currently on sale for $23.99 I may need to make a purchase. http://www.target.com/p/women-s-mossimo-supply-co-waylon-harachi-cork-wedge-sandal-cognac/-/A-14331320#prodSlot=medium_1_1
and should the heat be too much for you, going for a swim is a must, so this adorable suit may also be a must 😉
or for those of you who like a little more coverage in your swimwear this may be another fun option
Love this one piece from Target its only $29.99 http://www.target.com/p/junior-s-1-piece-vintage-swimsuit-assorted-colors/-/A-14216465#prodSlot=large_2_23
Hope you all enjoyed this post, that you have a great weekend, and a fabulous 4th of July!
Today’s post will be of my outfit yesterday. Normally I am complaining about the heat this time of year, but this is Texas where you can go from wanting snow cones one day to busting your winter coat out the next. We were experiencing quite the cold front, mid 40’s is quite a shock to system let me tell ya. I wanted to look nice but still stay warm. Here is the look I came up with.
As you can see I am very much the model type 😉
Oh you know just doing some yoga in the alleyway.
Earrings: Charlotte Russe.
Cowl Neck Blouse: Stole this out of my little sister’s closet hooray for weight loss, it’s from The Limited.
Bracelet: Family Heirloom
Jeans: Old Navy
Flats: Payless. I wear these a lot!
I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you are having nicer weather than we are 😉 Happy Friday.
