Gibson Girl Themed Shoot

The other day I was feeling rather inspired by the Victorian Era and wanted to try my hand at  “Gibson Girl” themed shoot. Well my little sister being the fabulous girl she is let me style her and take her portraits. I know I’m fairly biased because she is practically my baby, but oh my goodness she is so crazy beautiful! Such a joy to shoot.

Fashion Friday

This is my outfit from Monday. We were experiencing bipolar Texas weather, even though it is almost April it was surprisingly cold 50’s during the heat of the day and 32 at night, that may sounds very mild to all of you in colder climates but when you go from the mid 70’s to that it’s quite a shock. So I figured I better take advantage of the cold and wear my lovely knit hat cause it’s gonna be months til it gets this cold again.

My sister’s dog had to join in on the fun too, aren’t we gorgeous 😉

Maternity Shoot Sneak Peek!

Impromptu Photoshoot!

I thought I might share some pictures of an impromptu photoshoot I did not so long ago. The impromptu shoot was mostly fueled by the desire to play with some rented lenses…I am now officially saving up to buy myself an EF 85mm f/1.8 USM, because whilst photographing my “not so official” official model for my photography business I couldn’t get over how great this lens is. Of course my model is fantastic and makes my job a lot easier 😉

Can you believe this is a candid shot? She was talking when I took this photo! I never look this good candid, I normally look like I’m about to sneeze or something. She is ridiculously beautiful!

Couples Portraits.

*Warning this blog contains lots of pictures* On Saturday I did a photo shoot of my brother and his lovely wife. Boy, working with family certainly has its pros and cons…Pro you’re more relaxed because the professionalism doesn’t have to be so strong, con if you have a brother like mine you spend a good deal more time saying things like “stop making the stupid face or I will punch you” haha just kidding, sort of. But I think we got some pretty decent pictures regardless of silly faces here and there, so here they are, some of my favorite pictures.

Today I Met The Boy I’m Gonna Marry!

The other day I was made painfully aware of something, on the one rare day that I decide to leave the house sans makeup and socially acceptable clothes, is when all the cute men in the world decide to go where I am. For instance my average joe cashier has suddenly been replaced by a dead ringer for Michael Buble, the coffee guy is now some new rock star looking beauty, and all of the men where I am shopping look like they stepped out of a Calvin Klein ad. And as if looking like some stressed out college student in front of a crowd of should-be-male-models wasn’t enough, that is also the day every woman decides she is a stepford wife and looks amazing! So there I am sticking out like a sore thumb. In my workout clothes, a sorry excuse for a ponytail, and zero makeup, wishing that I had put a little more effort into how I look.

My confidence was taking a real beating, until I noticed something, the guys noticed me. At first I thought they couldn’t believe how hideous I looked, but I realized there were smiling and checking me out! Seriously what the heck? I was completely dumbfounded, turns out looking relaxed makes people feel relaxed around you, and it makes you way more approachable. Now I am not saying turn into some unkempt slob, but you can relax. Natural beauty is rare, and rarity is beautiful. So be confident in who you are whether your dressed to kill or dressed for a nap haha. I hope you all enjoyed this post. And let me know if anyone of you have had similar stories! You’ve got a friend in me!

 During labor day weekend I had the great pleasure of having my dearest oldest friend Jordan stay with me and do a photo shoot for her. She and I have been friends for about 10 years, which may not sound like a lot, but she has been there for half my life, so it’s a lot to me. We been through it all together, from barbies to college, we have been inseparable. We’re so close that we would call ourselves twins (really confuses most people and really amuses us).  So needless to say I love her and I am greatly blessed to have a friend in her. Here are some of the pictures, more to come at a later date 🙂

I know I am more than a little biased, but my goodness she is one fantastic model!!!

My Little Sister!!!

If you know me, then odds are you also know I love my little sister. She and I are scary close, thick as theives doesn’t come close to describing us! We have our own language, made up characters, and we still decorate our doll house for the holidays! We can drive each other crazy sometimes, but no one loves her the way I do and vice versa! I am so blessed

I have never met someone so young who could make me laugh as hard as this girl can.

Rachel is such a multifaceted little girl, she is an incredible beauty, crazy entertainer, scientist (the girl wants to be an entomologist! ya I had no idea what that meant until she told me its a bug scientist basically) bookworm, and wonderfully caring person.

Rachel has been my model whenever I needed one, and I must say I am certainly lucky to have such a beautiful little sister. I love her long hair, so pretty!

I love spending time with this one. I am never lonely when she is around 🙂

I just love taking pictures of Rachel she is such a cutie its just so easy to get wonderful pictures!

I really can’t say enough great things about my little sister, I love her so much. I am so lucky to have her! So instead of boring you all with my gushing I’ll just show you some pictures of my lil baby 🙂
