Costumes You Can Wear Again: Snow White

Hello all, so I just couldn’t wait til Friday to share this look with all of you. I was just too thrilled with my results to be patient haha.

I feel like Snow White may be one of the easiest looks to pull together that still has a great payoff, as long as you get the right colors you could do any interpretation of snowhite you wanted, you could be super casual and wear jeans, a yellow t-shirt, blue cardigan, and a red belt and headband for a relaxed look, or if you have a fancy yellow dress you could always do that up too, its completely up to you…So of course for my own interpretation I decided go for a pinup inspired look.

Can you believe there wasn’t a single crystal casket to use for my eternal slumber? So I made do with the bridge.1933and not one prince came along to kiss me…but its all good I managed, all one really needs is proper motivation to wake up…for me that motivation was dinner, you can’t just live off of apples you know ūüėČ

Hair Bow: Made it with some ribbon but if you want to buy something better check out this one by Juicy Bows

I hope you all enjoyed this look and maybe found a little inspiration for your own Halloween looks too. Happy Wednesday!

One Piece Multiple Possibilities

Hello all I hope you’re having a great week so far. I thought it would be fun to do another “transitional fashion” post but instead of a from day to night look I thought it would be fun to show you all how with the help from some select accessories and styling tips you can change the look of a romper completely.

I decided to go with my two favorite style aesthetics, both of which could not be more polar opposite, but seriously where is it written that you can’t like a little bit of everything when it comes to style?

Look 1. Pinup Inspired

Because of the casual nature of a romper I decided to keep my hair simple, rolled bangs, a little bit of a bouffant working, and the rest of my hair down and curled all set off with a cute little bandana. I of course ignore how casual the romper is when it comes to my makeup though, a classic red lip and a winged liner is just a must have to for me, and to set the look off I paired a wide red belt to define my waist and a pair of heels to make my legs look a little longer and leaner than they actually are.front and backdetails9230923893009242

Bandana: Target

Earrings: Kohls

Bra Top: Onzie

Romper: H&M/Similar

Belt: Vintage/Similar

Heels: DSW/Similar

Look 2. Bohemian inspired.

See what I mean about polar opposites? For a fun bohemian look I went a little more “intricate” with my hair doing a fun twisted crown and some soft romantic curls to set it off, kept the makeup very simple and luminous, piled on the jewelry I’ve never heard of such a thing as too much turquoise, added a brown braided belt, again to define my waist, and kimono to give the look some movement. Then threw on some cowboy boots for a bit of a rustic edge.

Jewelry: The choker my mother made and I believe all the other pieces were bought at pow wows. Honestly pow wows are the greatest places to find gorgeous turquoise jewelry and I like supporting artists as opposed to companies. Do a little research and see if there are any pow wows taking place in your town, and don’t worry if you’re not Native American every pow wow I have ever been to has been open to the public. However if there aren’t any pow wows taking place near you I did find this site (Indian Village Mall) that sells gorgeous Native American wears.

Kimono: Cotton bought it ages ago but I love this Kimono from Forever 21 as an alternative

Romper: H&M /Similar

Belt: Vintage/Similar

Boots: Atwoods supply store/Similar

Which look was your favorite? Do you have a tendency to have polar fashion favorites or is it just me? Drop me a line I love hearing from you guys.

Hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did. Happy Wednesday!

Fashion Friday Queen of Heartz Summer Line Pt 2.

Hooray time for Pt 2 of my Queen of Heartz feature! Let me start off by saying I’m a fairly modest person and I don’t particularly enjoy putting it all out there, so the idea of doing a swimsuit shoot was¬†a little intimidating. But let me tell you this, no swimsuit has ever given me the confidence to “rock what I got” quite like this one. I think the main reason this swimsuit made me feel like such a bombshell was yes its beautiful and the print is just straight up sexy, but it balances that sex appeal out with a cut that is not only modest ¬†but its also incredibly flattering.

IMG_8259You guys! There was another bee!!! Apparently bumble bees love Queen of Heartz as much as I do ūüėČ

Head piece: Gift from my dear friend Amy who sells other gorgeous headpieces on her etsy site

Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters they sold out of the exact pair I’m wearing but they have other brilliant options

Robe: Gift but you can find a similar robe at JCPenneys or Victoria’s Secret

Swimsuit: Queen of Heartz¬†I’ve never been a huge fan of one pieces which is funny for a “modest” person to say, but I always felt like they were more revealing in structure, and not at all flattering, most resulted in a ham in a tube sock like appearance. But this suit could not be more opposite of that, I love how the structure of this suit keeps you supported without being as brutal as spanx, the little buttons on the bust add a beautiful polished appearance, and the adjustable halterneck ensures your comfort regardless of size. Speaking of size Queen of Heartz size chart is always on point, my measurements are 36″ 27.5″ 36″ and the suit in medium is a perfect fit. I know I say it all the time but its Letty’s keen eye that truly sets her pieces apart, if you purchase anything from her you can rest assured the fit will be beautiful, the tiny details will give your outfit that polished edge, and the quality of construction will be like nothing you’ve ever experienced before. I cannot sing the praises of Queen of Heartz enough!

Shoes: DSW again not the exact pair I’m wearing but I actually like this alternative better

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you check Queen of Heartz out. Happy Friday my love!

Fashion Friday Featuring Corset Story

Hooray it’s Friday and boy¬†do I have a great feature for you all, this week I am featuring Corset Story.

Corset Story is an online¬†store, that works¬†along side of¬†thousands of international retailers, making them the largest distributers of corsets worldwide. Now before you wrinkle your nose at a “big business” I must let you know when I had questions about sizing I had someone helping me every step of the way with the kind of personal attention you would get from a boutique, but will all of the expertise of a large corporation. Not only is Corset Story an authority¬†on the construction of their garments but they also have an extensive variety of styles, which means¬†whether you prefer the rockabilly look (like I do) or are one of the few people cool enough to pull off the steampunk look (I applaud you) I can guarantee you will find something you want.

Earrings: Stole em from my mom but you can get a similar pair from claires

Corset: Corset Story Can I just say how much I love this beauty? The ruffle edging, the incredible constructions (You can really cinch that waist in let me tell ya),¬† the ability to wear it¬†dressed up or down, and my all time favorite print makes this the perfect corset in my eyes. My measurements are 36″ 27 1/2″ 36″ and with the expert advice I received¬†I ended up getting a size 24 which fits beautifully thanks to the lace up back. If you have any size questions the team at Corset Story are more than happy to help, but I’d say their size charts are pretty accurate so you may not even need help ūüėČ

Skirt: H&M

Shoes: DSW

I really hope you all enjoyed this post and that you check Corset Story out! Happy Friday my loves!

Dress: JBR Clothing¬†Have you ever seen an article of clothing that was your¬†personality made into a garment? Well this H &¬†R London Polka dot dress was so me I knew we deserved each other ūüėČ With its black and white polka dot print, classic swing dress shape, tulle underskirt, and fantastic pleated collar this dress is the embodiment of pinup. Not only was this dress visually “me” but the fit is spectacular. The H&R London dresses have a tendency to run on the small side but they provide a size chart that is positively spot on, so need to worry about the dreaded size gambling game. My measurement are 36″ 27 1/2″ 36″ and the medium is a gorgeous fit.

High Heels: DSW yes yes I wear these shoes too much, but am I sorry? Absolutely not.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you have a very Happy Valentines! PS if you’re looking for a last minute gift you couldn’t go wrong with a¬†gift certificate from JBR Clothing or¬†you could even buy yourself your own Valentines gift. No need to wait around to get what you really want. Love you guys!

Fashion Friday Featuring Heart of Haute Pt. 1

This week I will be featuring¬†Heart of Haute, an incredible clothing company who makes their pinup inspired pieces with “Love and No Regrets” meaning you can feel good about your purchases. No sweatshop labor and it’s all made in the USA! How stellar is that? This San Dimas California based company specializes in 50’s and 60’s style clothing, from tops to skirts and wiggle to swing dresses they have it all, and in a myriad of beautiful prints I might add ūüėČ

6538656665346528661565146517Adorable with or without a cardigan…but 33 degrees without any extra covering is bit too intense for this southerner.¬†6599trying desperately to stay warm.

65826550Quick dress twirl then a dash inside to escape the cold.

Pearls: Macy’s

Cardigan: Old Navy bought it years ago but they still have similar ones available.

Dress: Heart of Haute¬†¬†This dress is positively beautiful, I am so infatuated with the neckline! I love that just hanging on to the shoulder’s look, and because of the adjustable elastic sleeves it can be worn a little more off the shoulder if you’re looking to be extra daring ūüėČ The cut of this dress is phenomenal, it accentuates everything you want it to, yet hides what is typically not our best asset, if you want to make that previous statement into a pun feel free haha. Not only is this dress 100% cotton which I love, but its a sturdy cotton. Don’t you hate when your clothes are thin as crepe paper? This dress is built to last, quality construction, sturdy fabric, and a silhouette that will NEVER go out of style. I received a size small and because of the elastic in the arms it fits beautifully. My measurements are 36″ 27 1/2″ 36″ so I should technically be a medium but the small fits me just fine. However keep in mind if the dress you choose has “restricted” construction (no stretch) I’d go with what the size chart says just to be safe. I am absolutely thrilled with this dress and will be wearing it often.

Pantyhose: Nordstrom

Shoes: DSW¬†¬†I know you’re probably tired of seeing these shoes but what can I say? They are my go to pinup shoes, not too high of heel, all weather wearability, and a lovely shade of red.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you check out Heart of Haute . Happy Friday I love you guys!

Unique Vintage Fashion Friday

This week’s Fashion Friday will be featuring Unique Vintage. Unique Vintage is the creation of Katie Echeverry. Katie started out simply with an online shop of vintage finds and vintage reproductions. Well naturally interest built and it practically became a necessity for Mrs Echeverry to go full time and open a boutique. Her boutique is based out of Burbank California, and I long for the day I can actually visit it in person, until then I am constantly perusing the website http://www.unique-vintage.com/ They have everything thing from clothes to shower curtains, items inspired by the 1920’s to the 1990’s. There is something for everyone. You could close your eyes and point and end up picking out the perfect gift for me *hint hint* ūüėČ

Dress: Dallas Pinup and you can purchase it from Unique Vintage. This dress makes me feel like a million bucks! The moment I tried it on I knew I had to have it. The construction of this dress is phenomenal, it is made out of 100% cotton, and hugs my frame like a custom dress, that size chart is spot on. The color scheme is brilliant, I mean who doesn’t love a nautical motif? Plus it has pockets! This dress might as well come with a Hallelujah chorus because clearly it is heaven sent!¬†http://www.unique-vintage.com/unique-vintage-ship-shape-navy-with-stripe-trim-wiggle-dress-p-10605.html
