Fashion Friday Featuring Atomic Swag

Oh my goodness guys I’m so stoked for this week’s feature. As you all know I really enjoy rocking the pinup/rockabilly look, but unfortunately that style can be a bit too dressy. Now I’ve actually come to the point where I no longer care about people thinking I’m too dressy, but some day’s I’d prefer to be a little more chill, and what is more chill than a t-shirt? Well I’ll tell you, a t-shirt from Atomic Swag Apparel. I’m not sure I’ve ever worn a more delightfully soft shirt, seriously it’s like wrapping yourself in your favorite cozy blanket…except these bad boys are way more stylish than walking around wearing a blanket.

Atomic swag’s shirt designs are just fabulous and could fit anyone’s taste, men included, this post isn’t just for the ladies. The different styles offered range from rockabilly, motorcycle, state, to hotrod racing t-shirts and all these designs are printed on 100% cotton t-shirts using waterbased inks so they won’t chip, peel, or fade. Huzzah for excellent quality! Looking good isn’t enough, I need style and quality and Atomic Swag certainly delivers on both accounts.

Shirt 1.

Shirt: Atomic Swag Apparel I just love how delightfully cheeky the design on this shirt is don’t you? I’m just so pleased with this soon to be “overworn” piece. Since I’m a pinup and a Texan I’ve always had a bit of a softspot for pinup cowgirls and this shirt could not combine those two styles more perfectly.

Shorts: Target

Boots: Atwoods/Similar

Seemed like an appropriate sign to stand under 😉

Shirt: Atomic Swag Apparel Oh my word, I didn’t even know it was possible to love a shirt this much you guys. I have a ridiculous amount of state pride and if you’re a fellow Texan you know what I’m talking about, this shirt could not be more perfect! The cream colored background, the vintage soft feel, and the Texas design just combine so beautifully and I am not even a little sorry about how much I am going to wear this shirt. It’s a Texas thing Ya’ll 😉

Shorts: Target

Boots: Atwoods/Similar

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you get yourself some Atomic Swag gear…In fact both the lovely people at Atomic Swag and myself so badly want you to experience their brilliant combo of style and comfort that we have a 20% off discount code for you to use, its sarahforshaw20. So what are you waiting for? You’ve got a discount code and everything, this could be the smartest decision you make all weekend.

Happy Friday my loves!

One Piece Multiple Possibilities

Hello all I hope you’re having a great week so far. I thought it would be fun to do another “transitional fashion” post but instead of a from day to night look I thought it would be fun to show you all how with the help from some select accessories and styling tips you can change the look of a romper completely.

I decided to go with my two favorite style aesthetics, both of which could not be more polar opposite, but seriously where is it written that you can’t like a little bit of everything when it comes to style?

Look 1. Pinup Inspired

Because of the casual nature of a romper I decided to keep my hair simple, rolled bangs, a little bit of a bouffant working, and the rest of my hair down and curled all set off with a cute little bandana. I of course ignore how casual the romper is when it comes to my makeup though, a classic red lip and a winged liner is just a must have to for me, and to set the look off I paired a wide red belt to define my waist and a pair of heels to make my legs look a little longer and leaner than they actually are.front and backdetails9230923893009242

Bandana: Target

Earrings: Kohls

Bra Top: Onzie

Romper: H&M/Similar

Belt: Vintage/Similar

Heels: DSW/Similar

Look 2. Bohemian inspired.

See what I mean about polar opposites? For a fun bohemian look I went a little more “intricate” with my hair doing a fun twisted crown and some soft romantic curls to set it off, kept the makeup very simple and luminous, piled on the jewelry I’ve never heard of such a thing as too much turquoise, added a brown braided belt, again to define my waist, and kimono to give the look some movement. Then threw on some cowboy boots for a bit of a rustic edge.

Jewelry: The choker my mother made and I believe all the other pieces were bought at pow wows. Honestly pow wows are the greatest places to find gorgeous turquoise jewelry and I like supporting artists as opposed to companies. Do a little research and see if there are any pow wows taking place in your town, and don’t worry if you’re not Native American every pow wow I have ever been to has been open to the public. However if there aren’t any pow wows taking place near you I did find this site (Indian Village Mall) that sells gorgeous Native American wears.

Kimono: Cotton bought it ages ago but I love this Kimono from Forever 21 as an alternative

Romper: H&M /Similar

Belt: Vintage/Similar

Boots: Atwoods supply store/Similar

Which look was your favorite? Do you have a tendency to have polar fashion favorites or is it just me? Drop me a line I love hearing from you guys.

Hope you all enjoyed this post as much as I did. Happy Wednesday!

Halloween Costume Ideas.

Halloween the perfect excuse to wear something fun, eat candy, and spend time with friends. Unfortunately Halloween can also be scary…scary expensive. Costumes can be quite costly, and if you’re like most people you aren’t going to wear it again next year. You’re dropping a lot of cash for a “one wear” outfit. So I decided to throw together a few looks with things most of you ladies will already own, or at the very least can wear again.

For the adventurous type: Pirate.

9632966396719682

9662I feel like a pirate is probably the easiest of looks to pull together but still really deliver! It’s all about detail, a few fake wounds, some schmutz on your face, and plenty of layered jewelry are what take this look over the top.

What you’ll need:

For the glamour girl: Holly Golightly

95369550954495539548This is by far one of my favorite looks. Cause seriously who doesn’t want to channel Audrey Hepburn?

What you’ll need:

Sparkly hair pins or small tiara: http://www.claires.com/store/us/goods/claire%27s+club/cat1260282/dress+up/p52588/mini+tiara+hair+comb/  http://www.claires.com/store/us/goods/sale/cat1260122/jewelry/p26853/crystal+butterfly+and+flower+bobby+pins+set+of+6/ So I know not every girl has a tiara lying about, but most of us have those sparkly hair pins from prom, I just stacked the pins for a makeshift tiara.

Sparkly earrings: http://www.claires.com/store/us/goods/jewelry/cat1260162/earrings+/p62150/crystal+flower+and+teardrop+drop+earrings/

Black catseye sunglasses: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=18846980&parentid=W_ACC_SUNGLASSES

Pearls: I ended up layering two different pearl necklaces and added a brooch because that’s what I had, but sam moons has a lovely option http://sammoon.com/items_amj.asp?tempcat=necklace_statement&img=09132013_422_MG_5937&tbl=necklace_statement&cat=jewelry&id=1617

Gloves: Another thing I had left over from prom http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Stretch-Satin-Elbow-Length-Glove-25105_Accessories-Sashes-and-Coverage-Options-Gloves these aren’t necessary cause honestly not many people will wear them again, but since I had em I wore them for the shoot.

Little Black Dress: The beauty of this costume is just about any little black dress will do and most of us girls have a little black dress. But if you dont H&M has this gorgeous lbd for only $10! http://www.hm.com/us/product/14519?article=14519-A

Black shoes: I went with flats for comfort but if you want go for some lovely heels that are reminiscent of what Audrey wore http://www.hm.com/us/product/06850?article=06850-C

I hope you all enjoyed this post! If you try any of the following looks be sure to take a picture and share with me! Heck even if you don’t choose one of these looks take a picture and share, hearing from you guys always brightens my day! Have a great weekend and a Happy Halloween.

Fashion Friday Texas Fall Fashion.

Let me clarify that this is a “Texas fall look” we’re not as lucky as you people who are getting to wear tights, cardigans, and the like. It’s still in the 80’s here but after 100+ this feels pretty darn nice. So here’s the look.
90689117924391869156909092449289Ermagerd Permpkins! You guys pumpkins mean it’s fall! Clearly that makes me outrageously happy!

926793079341919992659137

Basically this entire look is from older items in my closet so just assume the links you are getting are not the exact thing.

White Blouse: Cotton On.  http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/entity/229487.uts

Black Undershirt: Stole it from my sister but H&M has inexpensive undershirts http://www.hm.com/us/product/13795?article=13795-E#article=13795-A

Belt: Not sure where I got it. Here are two options one being H&M http://www.hm.com/us/product/14881?article=14881-A or the cheaper alternative Forever 21 http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=acc_belts&ProductID=2020523428&VariantID=

Turquoise bracelet and ring: Bought them both at pow wows. Ring option http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=ACC&ProductID=1045622892&VariantID= bracelet option http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=acc_jewelry-bracelet&ProductID=1060779886&VariantID=

Jeans: JCPenneys I think. Here are some similar jeans for only $20 http://www.jcpenney.com/shops/find-more/juniors-clothing/arizona-bootcut-jeans-/prod.jump?ppId=pp5002701515&cmvc=JCP|dept20000015|cat100250132|RICHREL&grView=&eventRootCatId=&currentTabCatId=&regId=

Boots: Atwoods. If you dont live by an Atwoods there is always Target that has some cute cowboy boots for a great price http://www.target.com/p/women-s-mossimo-supply-co-kaci-western-boot-assorted-colors/-/A-13971594#prodSlot=medium_1_12&term=cowboy+boots

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you have a wonderful weekend.

Fashion Friday featuring Cotton On.

As many of you may have noticed a good deal of my wardrobe is from Cotton On. But can you really blame me? Their clothes are always beautiful, they constantly have sales, and not the trickster kind of sales where you actually aren’t saving money but honest to goodness sales, and they are an awesome company that has a true sense of responsibility, you can find out all about the Cotton On Foundation here to learn all about the way they are improving the world and helping others http://www.cottononfoundation.org/ but what I think is really great they make it incredibly easy for customers to make donations right at the checkout! No fussy paperwork to fill out no lifetime commitments have to be made, you can just make a donation then and there.
84368506844285428452855485138448Headwrap: Its just a ribbon I pulled out of my ribbon box but Top Shop has a cute alternative http://us.topshop.com/en/tsus/product/bags-accessories-1702229/hair-accessories-70519/headbands-70691/polka-dot-wire-headband-136848?refinements=category~%5b210046%7c208709%5d&bi=1&ps=20 and so does claires  http://www.claires.com/store/us/goods/hair/cat1260198/headbands/p54519/polka+dot+knotted+fabric+headband/

Umbrella: Target http://www.target.com/p/totes-clear-bubble-umbrella-silver-trim/-/A-10780081#prodSlot=medium_1_6&term=clear+umbrella

Blouse: Cotton On I bought mine on clearance so I couldn’t find the link to the exact one I am wearing so you can check your local Cotton On’s sales rack or buy this similar blouse http://shop.cottonon.com/shop/product/katja-s/l-shirt-white/

Midi rings: Forever 21 http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=ACC&ProductID=1040665778&VariantID=

Swing skirt: Cotton On http://us.cottonon.com/shop/product/jeanie-flippy-skirt-black/ They’re currently having a sale on these and you can get 2 for $20! This is one of my favorite cuts for a skirt, they’re slightly longer in the back which is great for modesty’s sake and the have shape that gives a nod to the 50’s which I adore. I could honestly buy one in every color!

Boots: Atwoods. Now Atwoods is a country supply store so they don’t have a website to order from, so you can either see if one is near you, or buy some similar ones from Sheplers http://www.sheplers.com/Old-West-Jama-Basic-Western-Cowgirl-Boots-Medium-Toe/21879.pro?parentCategoryId=448&categoryId=459&subCategoryId=460 these are one sale for $54.99 which is practically unheard of when talking about cowboy boots. I’ve seen some boots that cost more than an actual horse! So these are quite the bargain 😉

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you have a happy Friday!

“What I Wore” Wednesday

So I may or may not keep up with another outfit post but it’s worth a shot. This outfit I wore on Sunday for a quiet girls night out. Me and some of my lovely friends went to dinner then onto see Star Trek Into Darkness, which is a crazy awesome movie! Benedict Cumberbatch is incredible as Khan. I decided to go with a fresh faced not too fussy outfit and I think this was the perfect balance of style and comfort.

9721972597449737 My absolute favorite thing about this dress has got to be the opening in the back!

980197799734

Earrings: Cracker barrel, you can find just about everything there!

Flower: I bought it at the dollar store.

Dress: Cotton On http://us.cottonon.com/search/?q=raven+vintage+dress  couldn’t find the print I’m wearing, but the other prints are gorgeous and this baby is on sale for only $10!

Boots: Atwoods.

Hope you all enjoyed the post! Have a happy Wednesday.

Fashion Friday (Cinco De Mayo)

So this is my outfit I wore on Cinco De Mayo, it was a day full of family, homemade mexican food, margaritas, and sunshine. Pretty much a perfect day if you ask me.9128913591899123914791619140 haha so model like 😉

9170This is much more me.

Earrings: Cracker barrel of all places!

Gingham button up: Old Navy

Turquoise ring: Bought it at a pow wow (search to see if pow wows are happening near your town, they’re so much fun)

Skirt: Charlotte Russe

Boots: Atwoods

Hope you all had a Happy Cinco De Mayo and that you all have a fabulous weekend.

Fashion Friday Country Cute.

I must say this is probably one of my favorite outfits, I just feel so cute and girly in it. I feel as though I could be a country music video in this outfit 😉 haha such a Texas girl thing to say. I wore this last Friday for a fun get together I had with a friend of mine, it was the perfect kind of day, gorgeous weather, good food, fun shopping, and lots of talking with my sweet friend, so it stands to reason that my outfit be suited for all the fun!

IMG_8704IMG_8721IMG_87248729IMG_8741IMG_8747IMG_8752

Earring: Charlotte Russe

Necklace: Belonged to my father

Denim Jacket: Stole it from mom its from XXI

dress: Target

Gold bracelet: Gift sorry don’t know where they got it.

Cedar Bead bracelet: Bought it at a pow wow.

Ring: Gift from my mother and father.

Boot: Atwoods.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you all have a happy and fashionable Friday.

Fashion Friday :)

Wow I am doing another Fashion Friday. I really liked this look so I though I would share. It was just such a lovely day here in Dallas, not too warm and not too cold, so that means a dress and layering day to me. So here it is.

Dress: Target. It was a Christmas gift a few years back.

Vest: Target. A hand me down from my sister-in-law. I always wanted an older sister for that reason 😉

Panty hose: Kohl’s.

Socks: Forever 21

Boots: Atwoods Home and Farm Supply. I got these babies on sale for about $60 which is almost unheard of!

Nose ring: Hot Topic…it’s a fake :/

Turquoise bracelet: A Native American Festival, I picked it up and loved it…but it was too small, so the sweet little Navajo grandma who made and sold the jewelry, added more beads and wire to it to make it fit me! How sweet!

Gold Bracelet: Family Heirloom.

Headwrap: I think my mom found it at a garage sale.

Earrings: Charlotte Russe. These were free, for every $15 you spent you were able to choose a piece of jewelry under x amount of dollars.

So I hope you all enjoyed this post! Wishing everyone a Happy Friday and fabulous weekend!

Bri’s Senior Portraits

So this has been a long time coming, please forgive me, but you all must know how crazy the holiday season is…I’m thinking about celebrating Christmas next month not even joking! So I finally am posting some of my favorites from Bri’s senior portrait session. Happy Friday!

Isn’t she just gorgeous?

I love this shot!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone! TGIF
