Fashion Friday heads to Dallas Pinup.

So Saturday afternoon my best friend and I headed out for a bit of shopping. I had found out about Dallas Pinup just through searching google for Rockabilly/Pinup clothing stores in the Dallas region. Let me tell you I am beyond thrilled I found this place. The moment I walked through the door I felt as though I had died and gone to my own retail heaven! You walk in and your eyes don’t know where to settle first, the dress rack to your right? The cosmetics in the center? The hats on the left? Oh it’s all so perfect! I totally spaced and forgot to take interior pictures of the store sorry, maybe I was a little too excited 😉 I did manage to remember to snap a few pics of different dresses when I was in the fitting room though.

Almost bought this white dress, it was so darling! Doesn’t my best friend look stunning?

Another considered purchase, I was head over heals in love with the shape.

Please excuse my ever so messy hair, trying on clothes has a way of messing your do up. This romper was sooooo cute but you only get to see the top half cause it was a bit short on me. 😉 I did actually purchase a dress but you’ll just have to wait to see it. I want to give it a proper shoot. But I shall share my outfit I wore that day though.

Fashion Friday (Lady in Red)

Today’s Fashion post is of the outfit I wore on Sunday. I was going to an outdoor food festival thing with some friends, and being that this is Texas I wanted something that was light and was going to keep me cool yet still look stylish. I must say I am quite thrilled with this look and I hope you all are too.

 And this is why I wear shorts under my dresses 😉

Shoes: Ross. They’re so comfortable I love these babies, normally sandals rub blisters but these don’t HALLELUJAH!

Fashion Friday (20’s inspired)

Today’s post will be of the outfit I wore on Monday when I went to see The Great Gatsby. I adore the fashion from the 20’s so I figured I best take advantage of the outing to try my hand at a flapper inspired look. I didn’t want it to look like a costume but I did want it to be obvious what I was going for. I quite like the way the look turned out and hope you all do too.

Ronnie Fauss and JD McPherson Concert.

Last Thursday I had the great pleasure of seeing Ronnie Fauss and JD McPherson in concert. The show had sold out, but since the original venue was outdoors (The Belmont) and it had been raining all day, it was moved to The Kessler, well a change of venues and a change of plans meant I was going to be able to have an incredible night full of music, dancing, and of course some concert photography, this is me we’re talking about afterall.

First act was Ronnie Fauss. Admittedly my expectations are never really high to opening acts…I’ve heard some great ones and I have heard some real doozies, much to my delight Ronnie was fabulous! He is a Dallas based singer songwriter who draws influences from John Prine and Steve Earle. His music ranges from moody “bad boy country” to upbeat storytelling country.  Then JD McPherson took the stage. JD McPherson has something for everyone, honestly if you have the ability to hear I cannot comprehend you not liking these guys. There style is a mix of the kind of music they like, Rock n Roll, Rhythm and blues, rockabilly, etc. JD’s current album Signs and Signifiers is the perfect blend of old and new and shows the true artistry of these incredible musicians! Almost as soon as they hit the stage people were out front just ready to start dancing, and oh boy did they dance! Seriously if you ever have the opportunity to see these guys DO NOT HESITATE! BUY THOSE TICKETS! You will not be sorry you did. I have been to my share of concerts and these guys are the best band I have ever seen!

JD is just a rock star I mean really.

Doug is a phenomenal saxophone player!

Jason is an incredible drummer, I have no idea how he does it!

Fashion Friday (Cinco De Mayo)

So this is my outfit I wore on Cinco De Mayo, it was a day full of family, homemade mexican food, margaritas, and sunshine. Pretty much a perfect day if you ask me. haha so model like 😉

Fashion Friday (It’s May Right?)

Today’s post will be of my outfit yesterday. Normally I am complaining about the heat this time of year, but this is Texas where you can go from wanting snow cones one day to busting your winter coat out the next. We were experiencing quite the cold front, mid 40’s is quite a shock to system let me tell ya.  I wanted to look nice but still stay warm. Here is the look I came up with.
