Today I Met The Boy I’m Gonna Marry!

The other day I was made painfully aware of something, on the one rare day that I decide to leave the house sans makeup and socially acceptable clothes, is when all the cute men in the world decide to go where I am. For instance my average joe cashier has suddenly been replaced by a dead ringer for Michael Buble, the coffee guy is now some new rock star looking beauty, and all of the men where I am shopping look like they stepped out of a Calvin Klein ad. And as if looking like some stressed out college student in front of a crowd of should-be-male-models wasn’t enough, that is also the day every woman decides she is a stepford wife and looks amazing! So there I am sticking out like a sore thumb. In my workout clothes, a sorry excuse for a ponytail, and zero makeup, wishing that I had put a little more effort into how I look.

How the guys look

How the other women look

and then there is me *sigh*

My confidence was taking a real beating, until I noticed something, the guys noticed me. At first I thought they couldn’t believe how hideous I looked, but I realized there were smiling and checking me out! Seriously what the heck? I was completely dumbfounded, turns out looking relaxed makes people feel relaxed around you, and it makes you way more approachable. Now I am not saying turn into some unkempt slob, but you can relax. Natural beauty is rare, and rarity is beautiful. So be confident in who you are whether your dressed to kill or dressed for a nap haha. I hope you all enjoyed this post. And let me know if anyone of you have had similar stories! And as always Happy Wednesday!

Brule in Concert.

Over the weekend I went to a Native American Festival, and was able to see Brule. Now for those of you unacquainted with Brule they are a Native American musical group that mixes Native American traditional style with modern style music. I had become a fan through the television program Hidden Heritage on RFDTV which you can check out here http://www.rfdtv.com/shows/music_&_entertainment/hidden_heritage/

and find more on the band here

http://www.brulerecords.com/home.html

They absolutely killed it! Seeing them live was unbelievable, and the flute playing was so incredible it gave me goosebumps! I was able to snap a few pictures while they were performing, unfortunately the lighting was very low so the pictures are not incredible but I will still share them.

This man here was playing so fast and furious it was impossible to get a clear picture of him, but I like this pictures nonetheless.

And as if the incredible music wasn’t enough there was beautiful Native American dancing too!

All in all I had a wonderful time, and I would highly encourage anyone who enjoys great music and a fun show to check these guys out. It was an honor and privilege to see them live and I hope I get to do so again. Happy Monday guys!

Why Yes I Do Have Brothers.

Most of you who follow my blog probably could guess I am a bit of a girly girl. A dress wearing, tea sipping, sidewalk skipping girly girl. This in itself has to be some sort of miracle, because for the major portion of my life I was the only girl, I mean there was my mom, but she was a die-hard tomboy, so much so she was freaked over the idea of having a daughter (but that all worked out and now I am her favorite teehee). However the other day I couldn’t help but notice there are some definite attributes that are in direct relationship to having had brothers be my best friends for the first 8 years of my life, 8 years later I finally got that sister I wanted, translations brothers were demoted from favorite siblings haha. However those boys sure do rub off on ya. So Michael and James I hold you two fully responsible for these guy like qualities.

1. My taste in movies.

2. My love of a great explosion. I mean that is the only reason to watch Mythbusters right? Yes exactly, to see things blown to kingdom come.

3. My secret desire to be as wilderness savvy as Bear Grylls.

I mean who wouldn’t want to be this guy?

4. I should be a trucker, considering how much I eat, and the colorful verbage I use 😉

No lie I actually really wanted to be a trucker when I was 4.

5.The fact that I still think burping the loudest is some sort of accomplishment

“Did you hear that?”

6. I am way more comfortable in a group of guys than a group of girls.

7. I have no problem being myself. If you don’t like me that’s just fine.

Needless to say I love you guys, even though you are a colossal pain in the neck 😉

An Irish Manicure!

Yes I know this quite late coming, considering most people are now already wasted, but I thought I might share my St Patty’s Day nail polish look anyway.

I used Zoya Snow White, Nicole OPI Fresh Squeezed, and Nicole OPI One Time Lime.

And my look turned out like a so.

I hope you all like this look! Happy St Patty’s! Be safe and have fun!

Concert Photography.

So the other night I went to a concert, with some of my favorite people. It was a really great venue…for being up close and doing a little photography! We got their shortly after the doors opened, so I was able to position myself quite close to the stage. Added bonus though, was that I brought my 300mm lens, so I could get right in their face all from the comfort of my seat. This was my first time photographing a concert, with all the equipment I would normally leave at home, because of rowdy concert goers. But since the setting was really relaxed I was able to get some great pictures of Elizabeth Wills, Emmet Cahill, and Keith Harkin.

Elizabeth Wills was the opening act for Keith, now I will be honest my expectations for an opener are always pretty low. But in this case was pleasantly surprised with Elizabeth. She has an amazing folksy sound and pretty much everything she preformed was her own. So be sure to check her out http://www.elizabethwills.com/!

After Elizabeth, Keith Harkin of Celtic Thunder was up, a nice surprise though was that Emmet Cahill came too. Emmet is new to Celtic Thunder he joined in 201o, and I must say is immensely talented for someone so young (21) he has a beautiful classical voice and winning personality. You can check him out at http://www.emmetcahill.com/ There is much more information about him on his website, including a long list of musical accomplishments, that would take quite a while to list on my blog, so be certain to pop on over and check him out.

Emmet Cahill and Keith Harkin. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how adorable these two are?

Keith Harkin, the main reason everyone came. Keith has been with Celtic Thunder from the beginning, 2007. His musical style is sort of hard to define, some of his influence include Tom Waites, Neil Young, The Beatles, and Bon Iver, so there is a little something for everyone when he performs. Keith not only tours with the world-wide phenomena that is Celtic Thunder, but he does individual tours, rocking out with his McPherson guitar and wonderful vocals, and winning hearts all along the way. All of his fans are currently waiting on his solo album, it has taken a good bit longer than originally thought, mostly because he has signed with someone new, just a little somebody known as DAVID FOSTER! Color me impressed. David has discovered house hold names like Michael Buble and Josh Groban. So I am certain even bigger things are in store for Keith. http://www.keithharkin.com/

Keith Harkin. Good grief! The way he plays guitar is like nothing I have ever heard before! So much talent.

His hands just fly when he is playing his guitar!

He was just killin’ it. and I loved every minute of it. When the concert ended, the guys stuck around to pose for pictures and sign things, so naturally I had to say hello, how much I love their music, and of course have my picture taken with them. It’s not everyday you get to be around gorgeous Irish musicians is all I am sayin’.

Keith was real sweet, even though just about every woman in the place was clamoring for his attention, he managed to give real attention to his fans individually (myself included) *swoon*.

Then I went and said hi to Emmet. He was such a sweetheart, great people skills, and really down to earth. He and I actually talked for a little bit, so that pretty much made my night. *swoon again*

All in all I had an amazing time and can’t wait to see these guys again. I hope everyone enjoyed this post! Happy Tuesday!

Fashion Friday :)

Wow I am doing another Fashion Friday. I really liked this look so I though I would share. It was just such a lovely day here in Dallas, not too warm and not too cold, so that means a dress and layering day to me. So here it is.

Dress: Target. It was a Christmas gift a few years back.

Vest: Target. A hand me down from my sister-in-law. I always wanted an older sister for that reason 😉

Panty hose: Kohl’s.

Socks: Forever 21

Boots: Atwoods Home and Farm Supply. I got these babies on sale for about $60 which is almost unheard of!

Nose ring: Hot Topic…it’s a fake :/

Turquoise bracelet: A Native American Festival, I picked it up and loved it…but it was too small, so the sweet little Navajo grandma who made and sold the jewelry, added more beads and wire to it to make it fit me! How sweet!

Gold Bracelet: Family Heirloom.

Headwrap: I think my mom found it at a garage sale.

Earrings: Charlotte Russe. These were free, for every $15 you spent you were able to choose a piece of jewelry under x amount of dollars.

So I hope you all enjoyed this post! Wishing everyone a Happy Friday and fabulous weekend!
