Lessons to be learned from Disney Princesses!

Well I was talking about all the Disney princess movies, with my mom and little sister today, and got to thinking about all of the morals I never noticed before. So I thought I might share them with you today!

1. Cinderella.

Moral: The right shoes really can change your life for the better! 😉

2. Sleeping Beauty

Moral: People who say “you are sleeping your life away” are straight up wrong! I mean Aurora found the love of her life just by sleeping 😉

3.Jasmine

Moral: Having a pet tiger is really cool!

4. Snow white

Moral: Accepting food from strangers is a serious no no!

5. Ariel

Moral: Guys are happy enough just to have you around…So you don’t even have to talk to him 😉

6. Pocahontas

Moral: Falling in love with Mel Gibson is never a good idea!

7. Belle

Moral: It is tough work trying to change a man into a prince 😉

All of this was in good fun, so I hope I made you laugh. And hope everyone is having a happy Tuesday! Love you guys!

Lazy Gold DIY!

I did a nail polish tutorial the other day with Zoya colors in Mia and Trixie, well I decided to try the same look but with Goldie and Mia. I pretty much painted my nails the same way I did last time, except I only did a single coat of mia, and just did the french manicure part free hand without the wooden skewer. So here is how it turned out!

I love how this box matched my nails!!!

Now for the lazy DIY portion of this blog. I was going through a box of old dress up jewelry I had as a kid, because you never know what cool thing you might find, and I found a really pretty clip-on earring, naturally I am not going to wear clip-ons…well on my ears that is. So I located a gold chain, and clipped on the earring making a really cute necklace!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I love that as of late I have been getting more feedback, so let me know what you think! Happy Thursday!

Why I should’ve grown up in the 50’s!

It is no secret that I adore the 50’s. So I thought I might do a post on why I should’ve been around during that time!

1. The cars!!! Oh my word the cars from the 50’s are art in motion!

2. The music! I for one am more of a Cash fan than a Presley! I mean Elvis is great and all, but no one can touch Johnny Cash!

3. The hairstyles! No lazy ugly hair here! Even when the women would put their hair up in a ponytail it was still gorgeous!

4. The clothes! My goodness why oh why are these styles not the norm anymore?

5. What was considered beautiful for the time! Back when the women who were the icons of beauty actually had normal looking figures! Now I will not say only real women have curves, because there are plenty of girls who are naturally very slim! All I am saying is that the beauty industry and media of today push girls to unrealistic “body ideals”! It is not ok to over eat nor is it ok to starve yourself! Natural is always more beautiful! So accept the body you have and take care of it! Sorry enough preaching 😉

6. The way guys looked! I for one am a total sucker for a retro style on a man!

Oh my goodness I just love Bing Crosby and Bob Hope! Now there are some funny men!

7. Dating! Now I know the dating scene in the 50’s was probably nowhere near as innocent as it has been portrayed, but it was probably a good deal more innocent than today’s dating! The rules of dating were a good deal more clear then too! The guy’s asked the girls out, the guys picked up the check, or they made sure you knew that you were going dutch, and they were good deal more respectful of personal boundaries. Boy things sure were different back then!

I really hope you all enjoyed this post and my rambling 😉 Happy Tuesday! I love you guys!

My Top Makeup No No’s!

As I sat watching tv, The Bachelor to be more specific, and I know I know the show is ridiculous but let’s face everyone could use a good laugh! I couldn’t help but notice all of the makeup offenses I cannot stand! So for the uninformed or for those of you looking for a laugh I thought I would post the don’t of makeup!

1. The over blusher! Wow you look really embarrassed 😉 I for one detest this look! Why oh why do people abuse their blush?

2. Way too much foundation! You are not a building so lay off on the foundation! Everyone wants flawless skin myself included, but when you have so much makeup on you look like a weird Barbie doll, you need to cut back a little!

3. Having lip liner waaaaaaaaaaay darker than your lipstick! Who wants to look like a coloring book that has yet to have been finished?

4. The drawn on eyebrow look! What is so wrong with natural looking brows that people decided to shave them off, and then draw them on?

5. The chameleon! when you put on your makeup it should look as though you have nothing on! Not that you have completely changed races! Wait a minute you used to be white right?

Another offense under this category is when people start mistaking you for a vampire! lay off the white powder! The goth look is not cool, the 90’s are over!

6. The desperately clinging to yester year look. Wearing just as much crazy makeup that you did when you were 20 even though you’re in your later years, is just as ridiculous as a 20-year-old walking out of the house in a onesie!

Oh my just so much wrong in this picture!

There are a great many other offenses I could name off, but the main point I am trying to make is please people remember that makeup is supposed to enhance what is already beautiful about you!  Just remember that less is more! Hope you enjoyed this post guys! Happy Wednesday!

“Can’t go yet”

Well I suppose now that it is 2012 and everyone is chattering about 2011. Am I the only one who finds it funny that when the year is over people can’t seem to let it go? They need to talk about what happened, what they learned, what they saw, and where they traveled. I too like to reflect on things, to look back just to see how far I have come. However I can’t help but think of all the things I want to do, not what I have done. So in a way here are my resolutions, not so much for this year but for life! Here are the places I can’t go to yet, but have to see before I go for good.

1. Greece! It has been a dream of mine to go to Greece ever since I was a little girl. My late father always wanted to go, he said he wanted to see the ruins before they were gone! He also wanted to take my mother with, but he never got the chance, so when I go my mother will be going with me, taking us full circle and it will be without a doubt one of the most meaningful trips of my life.

can you believe how blue that water is?

2. Ireland! Yet another place I have wanted to visit for a long time. I just love all the beautiful green rolling hills in the countryside and the quaint little pubs in the city! Not to mention that it is the Irish that have the cutest accents in the world! 😉

3. Italy! Who wouldn’t want to go to Italy? The food, the landscape, the cars, and let us not forget THE SHOES! Those Italians sure know how to make a great shoe!

4. France! I took two years of French and forgot almost all of it! But C’est la vie. 😉 France just seems to be a culmination of what makes me happy, beautiful architecture, fabulous foods, beautiful fashion, and countless photo-ops. The French are supposedly rude but I don’t care if that is true or not, I will find that out for myself without any pre conceived notions.

5. Austria! More specifically Vienna during ball season! I mean Vienna is one of the few places that still parties like its 1699 😉 and how many opportunities does a girl get to wear a ball gown?

There are a great deal of other places I long to travel to, but I thought I might just share some of my top locations. What about you guys? Where are some of your dream destinations and why? I hope you enjoyed this post! Happy Tuesday!
